The evening of 2024-11-25 was a meeting of the Honeoye Falls Board of Trustees.
Once again, time for the tax levy limit override game. Not an actual override of the levy, but a step required by the State so that there are more options when the Village does it’s budget. At which point, either the tax levy limit is actually exceeded, or this local law is appealed. Rather silly, but it’s something that the Village does every year. Because having more options is important.
TiA Coffee is apparently open for sales. Not yet open for regular walk ins, but that may be coming before too long. As for irregular walk ins, that appears to be possible if you make arrangements.
The Menorah lighting is scheduled for December 26. I didn’t hear a time, but I would expect in the evening.
And as usual, there was talk about the ongoing challenges with funding the Fire Department.
The Fireman’s Christmas Parade for December 14 received Monroe County DOT permit approval. Good to have, but I suspect this was a formality more then anything else.
Living Nativity was approved for usage of Harry Allen Park on December 22. Event will start at 6:30PM. Full disclosure, for whatever it is worth, I’m involved in running this.
The audio tour signs have apparently stopped working. I didn’t hear a reason as to why, but either way, Honeoye Falls Mendon Rotary has a work around using their website. There are plans to adjust the signs around the Village, but logistics might delay that.
And those are my Observations From Audience Land for the November 25, 2024 meeting of the Honeoye Falls Board of Trustees.
