      Tonight (2017-05-15) was a meeting of the Honeoye Falls Board of Trustees.

      Interesting meeting tonight, from a time usage vs agenda item point of view. The reports from departments took the bulk of the time, while the agenda items (minus the last) were relatively short. Usually it’s the other way around, relatively short reports followed by longer old and new business.

      Ironically enough, the clerk’s computer started the meeting by deciding it was time to do updates. To her credit, she pulled out paper and continue on. Continue reading →

Honeoye Falls-Lima Board of Education 2017-05-09

      Tonight (2017-05-09) was a meeting of the Honeoye Falls-Lima Board of Education (BoE).

      Tonight was the first night the BoE was completely using a new tool for it’s packet. Side effect of this is that the public can read most of the information the board gets before the meeting (minus any executive session information). While it’s too soon for me to form a real opinion on the details, the idea of getting the information out earlier is one I am in favor of. Nothing like having a well educated public to offer feedback during ‘public comment’ time. Mind you, I’m probably the only one that cares. Continue reading →

Mendon Town Board 2017-05-08

Honeoye Falls-Lima Election Pending 2017-05-16

      As with most years, this years school vote is in three parts. There will be a budget for next year, purchase of school buses, and three positions on the school board. The vote itself will be happening Tuesday May 16th, 2017 in the High School Lobby.

Honeoye Falls Village Board 2017-04-17

Honeoye Falls-Lima Board of Education 2017-04-11

      Tonight (2017-04-11) was a meeting of the Honeoye Falls-Lima Board of Education (BoE).



      The big topic of the night was next years school budget, and the board approved a budget to send to the voters. The public hearing on the budget will be May 9th, at 7PM. Considering past years, most likely in the High School cafeteria. The budget vote will be on May 16th, at the High School Lobby (just outside the pool). Also that day is Cougar’s Creations, and they usually have a BBQ outside. Continue reading →

Mendon Town Board 2017-04-10

      Karla Boyce was back tonight. She was a Town board member in years past, but had moved on to other things. Tonight she was back to present an award to Ron Knight for his work with the new library. In particular, his dedication in gathering the money to pay for the project. Continue reading →
