Tonight (2019-04-01) was the Honeoye Falls Annual Meeting.
As usual, Budget Hearing was before the Annual Meeting. While the budget was approved (no surprise), there was a surprising amount of discussion before that approval. In the end, a levy increase of 2.91% (ie at the cap) was approved, which should increase the Village’s revenue ~$12k. Continue reading
Tonight (2019-03-26) was a meeting of the Honeoye Falls-Lima Board of Education (BoE).
This was also the meeting where the Program Budget Advisory Council (PBAC) makes their recommendation to the BoE. As I sit on the PBAC, I was with the group presenting. While you are welcome to read the full recommendation, I would summarize it as ‘continue what has worked in the past’. Continue reading

Tonight (2019-03-11) was a meeting of the Mendon Town Board.
As the Village Trustees had moved next weeks meeting to tonight, I had to pick one to attend. As this posts title gives away, I picked the Town. Which means I couldn’t listen to the Village talk about Festival on the Green or the new lights in/around Harry Allen Park. The topic of the night was the demolition and reconstruction of a barn on Hyde Park. After some discussion, the request was approved. Continue reading
Tonight (2019-02-26) was a meeting of the Honeoye Falls-Lima Board of Education (BoE), and before that the Program Budget Advisory Council (PBAC).
The start of the meeting was delayed, for good cause. We had to go outside and welcome the Nordic team back. This was fitting, as one of the evenings presentations was from the athletics department. Continue reading

The primary reason to meet was simple and straightforward: Moving the lot lines on the Carriage street (old GM plant) property. Separated the buildings on paper, for organizational benefits by the sounds of it. Continue reading
Tonight (2019-02-19) was a meeting of the Honeoye Falls Board of Trustees.
Before getting into the meeting proper I should point out how this meeting was on Tuesday instead of the regular Monday. Unlike last month, I was able to attend. While the Board does give plenty of warning, and they are predictable in this (and January’s) date shift, I still would prefer they stuck to the Monday. Even if it is a holiday. But then again, with all the tension out there, taking a day to honor our president isn’t all bad. Continue reading
