Tonight (2020-04-28) was a meeting of the Honeoye Falls-Lima Board of Education (BoE).
While video conferencing has it’s technical issues (I crashed out in the middle of the budget presentation), I think this group is getting pretty good at them. The streaming started enough before the actual start of the meeting that nothing was missed. And at the other end, people were leaving before it was cut off. There was also a meeting of the Village Board. Ironically enough, even with so many things having gone online, I still can’t manage to observe two meetings at the same time. So tonight was with the Town. Maybe the Village recorded their meeting and I can watch it later. Probably not, but there is always hope. Continue reading

The former facilities building is gone. Is part of the ongoing Capital Project. Which is a silver lining to this panic: The school being effectively closed means the workers have more flexibility. Continue reading

Tonight (2020-03-24) was a meeting of the Honeoye Falls-Lima Board of Education (BoE).
This was also the meeting where the Program Budget Advisory Council (PBAC) makes their recommendation to the BoE. As I sit on the PBAC, I was with the group presenting (such as it was). Tonight (2020-03-09) was a meeting of the Mendon Town Board.
Early on in the meeting concerns for corona came up again. I will give the promoters of fear credit, they do get their message out. Collectively, we are afraid. Yet what evidence I’ve read says it will be another flu. A bunch of people will get sick, a small percentage of them will die. Continue reading
