Early on in the meeting concerns for corona came up again. I will give the promoters of fear credit, they do get their message out. Collectively, we are afraid. Yet what evidence I’ve read says it will be another flu. A bunch of people will get sick, a small percentage of them will die. Continue reading
Tonight (2020-03-02) was a Mendon Public Library Board of Trustee meeting.
The meeting started off with concerns about Corona. And I’m not talking about the beer. A variant of that joke was made, so good to see a sense of humor is still in effect. At this point, locally, it’s just preparation for potential disasters. Which is good practice regardless. After all, if you’re ready for a Zombie Apocalypse, you can also handle any ‘smaller’ disaster. Continue reading

Despite the pattern being ‘third Monday’, this meeting was on a Tuesday. Completely expected, and properly announced, so I can’t fault anyone there. Even if it is a pet peeve of mine. Continue reading

Tonight (2020-02-10) was a meeting of the Mendon Town Board.
The excitement of the night was ‘Recognitions of Service’. Three long time employees had retired towards the end of last year, so they were back to get plaques tonight. Nice event, which brought a bit of a crowd. Continue reading

The meeting was short and to the point. The Episcopal church asked for, and received, approval to demolish a barn/garage. Continue reading

Tonight (2020-01-21) was a meeting of the Honeoye Falls Board of Trustees.
Most years I miss this meeting, as the Village moves off of the regular Monday due to it being a holiday, and being part of the School’s PBAC which meets on Tuesdays. While the Village didn’t change their schedule this year, the School did. How that change plays out long term remains to be seen, but it did allow me to go to this meeting tonight. Continue reading
