The evening of 2026-09-22 was a meeting of the Honeoye Falls-Lima Board of Education (BoE).
The Student Board Representatives were back again. While I’m sure I’m spelling all their names wrong, we had Emeline and Ryleigh back from last year, and Holden for his first year. After being sworn in, they reported the various ways the school year is off to a good start.
Including that Fall Weekend is just around the corner. October 3rd for Parade, Football, Hall of Fame, Soccer, and more. So make sure it’s on your calendar, for all the events that are happening.
Kristin (Instruction) reported on last year’s academic data. Which, not surprisingly, was generally good results. Most of HFL results were the top in the County. And the overall assessment puts us just outside the top 25% in the nation.
I was amused to hear that there is an embargo on the names of other districts. Which is to say, HFL can share the graphs of how we compare to the other districts in the County. But we can’t share their names. Which has me wondering, how many ways are their to list the names? While the list could be deliberately shuffled, would that effort be applied? Meaning the graph is probably alphabetic, or some other standard sorting of the districts. Perhaps as seen in any of the past reports? So it shouldn’t be too hard to dig up a list and pencil in the missing data on your own. Mind you, I don’t care enough to try. But hey, maybe you want a puzzle to work through.
Budget calendar was adopted. And the next BoE meeting is scheduled to be in Lima. For those of you who attend this sort of thing, make sure to update your plans accordingly
