The evening of 2026-09-21 was a meeting of the Honeoye Falls Board of Trustees.
For those of you concerned about trucks in the Village at night, it should be getting better. Also worse, maybe. Zone B Captain Rick Bancroft was there to share on Commercial Vehicle Enforcement (the other kind of CVE). And Terry Page from Heidelberg Quarry shared what is being done on that side of things. Even as he acknowledged the truckers aren’t his employees, so his options are limited. From the sounds of it, their efforts should improve the situation. But, at the same time, next month there will be more trucks coming through at night for a State project. My take away, give the Village feedback and they will see what can be done. And perhaps, ‘I slept through it all’ is the best feedback you could offer.
The Girl Scouts are holding their annual Pumpkin Festival on 10/10 from 6-8PM. And before that, the America Needs Fatima Rosary Rally from 10AM-3PM. Both events appear to be open to all. Might be a good excuse to get out and enjoy the fall weather.

There was a short mention of Copperfield. Mostly to highlight that the process is continuing, and comments are being added to the record as they are submitted. I’ll point out the Village now has a page dedicated to the project. I applaud them for using their website to share this information with the public.
Likewise, the urgent care at 20 North Main was mentioned briefly. Only to point out they are currently waiting on the Town for next steps. And again, I’ll point out the Village now has a page for this project too. I’m hoping this pattern continues, and the Village keeps making use of their website this way.
Waste Water Treatment Plant project continues along it’s process as well. Rick (Mayor) seems hopefully most (if not all) of the ~$18 million project will be covered by grants.
Accepting ownership of the charging table at Totem Pole Park came up. I offer no opinion on the charging table, or it’s ownership. But I thought removing the Totem Pole was approved a while back. Hence being surprised the park still has that name. But I do like to be wrong. Or maybe it’s just habit?
The Scout House foundation was looked at, and the Village is waiting for the formal report. They are aware of repairs that need to be done to the building, but to paraphrase Rick, no point to replace the roof if the foundation also needs replacing. Better to start at the bottom and work up, even if that makes the project bigger in the end.
Emergency Services contracts with neighboring municipalities were discussed. Mostly around planning for the future. And how timing of the various budget seasons comes into play. With the continued struggles to find enough volunteers, and the slow transition towards paid staff failing at that leads to. Or not, as some of those details will still need to be ironed out. But the Village is at least working to address the issue.
