The evening of 2026-07-13 was a meeting of the Mendon Town Board.
Most interesting item was also one of the last. Put simply, goto the Village’s next Zoning Board meeting. Joe (Supervisor) thinks you’ll like the improvements to the development plan. I heard the next Zoning Board meeting will be 8/3, fitting their regular schedule. But check the Village website to be sure.
Janet (Bookkeeper) has also been appointed the HR liaison. Which had me thinking of the many hats Mary was wearing at the end of her time with the Town. While Janet is not there yet, it almost sounds like that multi-function positions is gradually being rebuilt. One piece at a time.
The Town is getting some ice alert signs. Not sure on details here. But the main point is they will change color based on temperature. I’ve heard of materials doing that, and using them for road signs seems quiet useful. A simple way to give a little warning. No complex infrastructure needed, just stick it in the ground.
Stoney Lonesome road intersection is apparently safer now. Due to brush cleaning and similar prunings. Such that the Town is not planning further action. If it works, great. But as plants tend to grow back, worth keeping an eye on. Although it sounds like the State has plans a few years out.
In the interests of full disclosure, I still provide services to the Town, and they still pay me for doing so.
