The evening of 2023-04-17 was a meeting of the Honeoye Falls Board of Trustees.
Following up on the Town’s Fire Services Report, the Village adopted a resolution to move forward in exploring consolidating fire services. While this was expected, I found the amount of detail interesting. Listening to the conditions and requirements, it sounded like a framework for how to go about the process. Not that the Village can force anything on the other municipalities involved. But as I recall the Town’s last meeting, they made a more informal decision to continue. Whereas Rick (Mayor) provided a rough path.
The Village is trying to figure out what to do with old flower baskets. For now, they are in storage, as the Village has no immediate use for them. But a number of people have inquired as to if they could have them. Apparently there are legal issue with just giving them away or selling them, as they were purchased using taxes. Having said that, with the environmental fair on April 29th, I wouldn’t be surprised if they were made available there somehow. Declared scrap and free for the taking? Used to hold saplings the Conservation Board is giving away? If nothing else, it’s another excuse to go visit the event.
The north side of West Main street sidewalk, from Salvatore’s to the light, is being renovated. I didn’t hear exact dates, but from context I think it’s this summer. Sounds like trees are also being replaced, although there seems to be a delay for that. Something about prepping the ground? Outside my expertise. I would say the takeaway is that the sidewalk will be worked on, and the trees are being removed. But new trees will come back in due time.
And those are my Observations From Audience Land for the April 17, 2023 meeting of the Honeoye Falls Board of Trustees.
Online copy of Agenda was not available anywhere I could find. Perhaps it will be on the Village’s website in the future, perhaps not…
