Tonight (2021-07-19) was a meeting of the Honeoye Falls Board of Trustees.
While there was plenty of discussion on various items, what stood out the most to me was that Stan (Deputy Mayor) ran the meeting. Rick (Mayor) couldn’t make the start of the meeting, so joined in when he could. Life happens, we all make the best of it. And Stan managed the task assigned to him.
An Eagle Scout (whose name I missed) had helped the Ambulance department out by mapping all the apartments and trailer homes in their coverage. I’m not sure what exactly that entails, but helping those who provide emergency assistance is commendable.
Planning for the repairs of Hyde Park continue. While it sounds like the exact date has yet to be nailed down, it is expected that construction will occur this August. The description, with drilling and such, sounded interesting. I’m sure Hyde Park itself will be closed off for the work, but I wonder how the view from across the creek will be. Might be worth a visit one of these days, perhaps before one of the Tuesday concerts.
There was some juggling of revenue/expenses from last year. Much like the School, the Village’s budget year does not match the calendar year, and they aren’t that far into the current one. By the sounds of it, the panic meant a number of expected expenses didn’t happen. So those moneys are (mostly) being passed along to continue those projects this year. And where that wasn’t the case, put into reserves to cover expected expenses down the road. Because there is always a rainy day around the corner.
St Johns Episcopal Church is planning a ‘Fall Flea & Fun Event’ from 9AM-4PM on 2021-09-25. It will be in the parking lot, outside the church. From last year and the way it was described, I would expect a cross between flea market and church gathering.
Much sooner, on 2021-07-23, Elevate will be offering free strength and conditioning training from 8AM-9AM. I don’t know how that fits your schedule, but if you’ve got nothing else planning this Friday, it may well be worth checking out.
And those are my Observations From Audience Land for the July 19, 2021 meeting of the Honeoye Falls Board of Trustees.
