And the theme of the meeting was ‘attention to details’. Every i must be dotted, and every t crossed. No exceptions. While I don’t agree with many of the details, I do find the boards attempt to deliberately apply all rules equally to everyone a commendable act. But the devil is ever in the details. Minor notes for the evening was the new head of the Facilities department (Aaron Smith) and watching a group correct typos can be amusing (2015 should be 2016). Besides that, the bulk of the meeting was ‘diversity’ under it’s various headings. Continue reading

The focus for the evening was gathering questions from the general public. Not so much in answering those questions, but collecting a sampling of what the community wants to know before any decision is made on HFL’s involvement with the program. Continue reading

While listening to the department reports I realized that they have become the primary usage of time at these particular meetings. Didn’t used to be that way. Nothing wrong with that, just means most of the other agenda items go quickly. Continue reading

At the meeting where the various buildings report on how well the start of school has gone, the process for next years budget also begins. When is it budget time? Apparently, anytime staff is around (ie all the time). Continue reading

Tonight (2017-08-30) was a meeting of the Honeoye Falls Zoning Steering Committee (or something like that).
As this meeting wasn’t publicized through the normal channels, I didn’t know the starting time. So I showed up 15 minutes late, instead of 15 minutes earlier. Nothing wrong here, this wasn’t the sort of meeting that went looking for an audience. But it also wasn’t ‘behind closed doors’, so no one kicked me out when I invited myself in. Continue reading

Normally this board meets in the evening, and the meeting lasts a few hours. Today they met in the morning and it lasted about 10 minutes. Other then that, wasn’t much of note. Continue reading
