While listening to the department reports I realized that they have become the primary usage of time at these particular meetings. Didn’t used to be that way. Nothing wrong with that, just means most of the other agenda items go quickly. Continue reading

At the meeting where the various buildings report on how well the start of school has gone, the process for next years budget also begins. When is it budget time? Apparently, anytime staff is around (ie all the time). Continue reading

Tonight (2017-08-30) was a meeting of the Honeoye Falls Zoning Steering Committee (or something like that).
As this meeting wasn’t publicized through the normal channels, I didn’t know the starting time. So I showed up 15 minutes late, instead of 15 minutes earlier. Nothing wrong here, this wasn’t the sort of meeting that went looking for an audience. But it also wasn’t ‘behind closed doors’, so no one kicked me out when I invited myself in. Continue reading

This morning (2017-08-22) was a meeting of the Honeoye Falls-Lima Board of Education (BoE).
Normally this board meets in the evening, and the meeting lasts a few hours. Today they met in the morning and it lasted about 10 minutes. Other then that, wasn’t much of note. Continue reading

Showed up a bit early, which was good as also early was Mike Graves, whose children I had gone to school with. Gave us an opportunity to chat and catch up. As other people came in, I yet again encountered evidence of the small town we live in: I knew nearly all of the dozen or so audience members. Continue reading
