Tonight (2018-09-17) was a meeting of the Honeoye Falls Board of Trustees.
As has happened at some previous meetings, essentially all the noteworthy items were part of the reports at the start of the meeting. The rest of the agenda items where pretty straightforward, wasn’t much more then what the agenda itself said. The exception was adding the student representative to the Board. Continue reading
Tonight (2018-09-10) was a meeting of the Mendon Town Board.
While I generally don’t like special meetings and rescheduling, the only reason I was able to make it to this meeting was because the Village Planning Board rescheduled their regular meeting (which would have been tonight) to next Wednesday. Continue reading
Tonight (2018-09-04) was a meeting of the Honeoye Falls-Lima Board of Education (BoE).
While waiting for the meeting to start, I noticed the seating had been reversed from past years. Previously, the board sat in a U with any presenters in the opening, and the Audience behind those presenters. Now the bottom of the U is towards the audience, and the presenters have their backs to the wall. This does mean everyone in attendance is facing the same information during presentations. Unfortunately, this also means the elected officials have their backs to any members of the public that are there to speak to them. Continue reading

The board room had been redecorated since the last meeting. The old interior window was gone, walls had been repainted, large screen was added, and the lights had been adjusted. Continue reading

In contrast to last month, this was a wonderful meeting where everything went perfectly. Realistically, there are always nits that could be picked, but the improvement was remarkable. Continue reading

Tonight (2018-08-13) was a meeting of the Mendon Town Board.
Tonight I heard the unfortunate news that Bruce is resigning from both the Library Board of Trustees and the Zoning Board of Appeals. I’ll miss him in both those roles, but nothing in this world lasts forever. Hopefully whatever other adventures he undertakes will go well for him. Continue reading

On a mostly unrelated topic, the bridge is out for the week while maintenance is done on it. Brought up here because the construction site is right outside the Village office, where the meeting was held. Was able to admire the work before going inside for the meeting. Continue reading

The only application of the night, was a Special Exception Use request for 12 N Main, the old Oppedisano Bootery, to have apartments upstairs. After much discussion, the request was tabled for next month. Continue reading
