Tonight (2018-07-10) was a meeting of the Honeoye Falls-Lima Board of Education (BoE).
This was the annual organizational meeting, or as Gene (Superintendent) put it “Happy New Year“. Which means many agenda items, and I ponder how to streamline the process. Took about an hour to get through the reorganization portion, then about half an hour to get through the business portion. Tonight (2018-07-09) was a meeting of the Honeoye Falls Planning Board.
Despite it being the last item discussed, I’ll lead with it: Mary Szlosek will be leaving the Planning Board, as she is moving out of the Village. While I’m sure I could find some details to criticize, I feel she did a good job in her time as Chair. She will be missed. Continue reading

The meeting was on the longer side, to such an extent a comment was made that new board members can’t be told how long meetings will be. Gene (Superintendent) apologized for the delay, as the Board met in executive session before the public meeting. The topic? His annual evaluation. Continue reading

Despite there being an agenda, there did not seem to be a meeting. Met the minutes maker (secretary? clerk? whatever the title is) outside, but no one else was around. Continue reading
Tonight (2018-06-18) was a meeting of the Honeoye Falls Board of Trustees.
While there were a number of items on the agenda, and the meeting did take a fair amount of time, there wasn’t much of interest. Mostly formalities or potential future events. Continue reading
Tonight (2018-06-12) was a meeting of the Honeoye Falls-Lima Board of Education (BoE).
The most interesting part of the meeting wasn’t really part of the meeting. It was that only 5 of 9 board members were in attendance. Reasons for the others absence wasn’t noted, but it was expected. Amusing in that actions required all those in attendance to agree on them. Continue reading

As one of my other hats is that of a Zoning Board member, three actions tonight were of particular interest. Two proposed code changes, which will be going to a public hearing (July 16th), and an additional requirement for being on the Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA). Continue reading

The only applicant was Miller Lanes, who were looking to add some outdoor seating for the restaurant side of the business. They mostly got approval in the end, but the discussion to get there was amusing at times. Continue reading
