Mendon Town Board 2019-02-11

Tonight (2019-02-11) was a meeting of the Mendon Town Board.

I had the pleasant surprise of running into an old classmate. Wes was at the meeting, in a professional capacity for his job at LaBella Associates. He is helping the Town update their Comprehensive Plan. Continue reading

Honeoye Falls Zoning Board 2019-02-04

Tonight (2019-02-04) was a meeting of the Honeoye Falls Zoning Board.

The only agenda item was a concept discussion for Josh Landscape. And while this, technically, is what happened, there was a degree of wandering in the discussion. Which seemed fine to me, there is a decade of history here to hash out. Continue reading

Tonight (2019-01-22) was a meeting of the Honeoye Falls-Lima Board of Education (BoE), and before that the Program Budget Advisory Council (PBAC).

Full disclosure: I sit on the PBAC, so some of these Observations aren’t exactly from the Audience. Continue reading

By pattern, tonight should have been the Village of Honeoye Falls Board of Trustee meeting. Instead, they have rescheduled for tomorrow, citing Martin Luther King Jr Day as a reason. Continue reading

Mendon Town Board 2019-01-07

Tonight (2019-01-07) was a meeting of the Mendon Town Board.

Another year, another organizational meeting. Although, there was something slightly different this year. Couldn’t put my finger on the direct change, but the meeting felt more ‘stuff is happening’ and less ‘boring motion after motion’. Good job here, even if I can’t pinpoint it. Continue reading

Mendon Town Board 2018-12-31

Today (2018-12-31) was a special meeting of the Mendon Town Board.

I asked, and the primary purpose for having an off cycle meeting was to simplify end of year finances. Not quiet what I would consider a noble reason, but I can’t really fault it either. Accordingly, the largest part of the meeting was probably the approval of vouchers and budget adjustments. Continue reading

Honeoye Falls-Lima Board of Education 2018-12-18

Tonight (2018-12-18) was a meeting of the Honeoye Falls-Lima Board of Education (BoE).

There was a student to speak during ‘Public Comment’ time. Not exactly rare, although always welcomed. Surprisingly enough, he spoke in favor of more math classes, in particular AP Calculus BC. I say good for him, more math (and the science it leads to) can only help. Continue reading

Honeoye Falls Village Board 2018-12-17

Tonight (2018-12-17) was a meeting of the Honeoye Falls Board of Trustees.

I’ll start with the last chronological event, but by far most emotional: Jerry Pavelsky (Deputy Mayor) is moving to Florida. As such, he is resigning from the Board. I know I won’t be the only one to miss him, both on the Board and in the community. Having known Jerry and family for quiet some time, I knew this was coming at some point. But life is change, so I hope he has a wonderful time at his new residence. Continue reading
