Honeoye Falls-Lima Board of Education 2019-04-09

Tonight (2019-04-09) was a meeting of the Honeoye Falls-Lima Board of Education (BoE).

As happens at most of these meetings, the Board members trickle in and try to find their name tags, so they can sit in the right place. As far as I can tell, it doesn’t matter where they sit, but whatever. I did have the thought: Maybe the name tags should be angled so they are easy for the Board to see when they enter, so they can find their seats easier. Then once they are seated, turn them so the audience can tell their names. Continue reading

Mendon Town Board 2019-04-08

Tonight (2019-04-08) was a meeting of the Mendon Town Board.

In many ways this was a standard meeting. Relatively short, more or less straightforward. Having said that, there were a few interesting tidbits. Continue reading

Honeoye Falls-Lima Board of Education 2019-04-02

Tonight (2019-04-02) was a budget workshop of the Honeoye Falls-Lima Board of Education (BoE).

The topic of the meeting was the ~$500k gap between expected income and desired expenses. I’ve been coming to these long enough that I knew there would be a plan to close that gap, and I was not disappointed. Continue reading

Honeoye Falls Zoning Board 2019-04-01

Tonight (2019-04-01) was a meeting of the Honeoye Falls Zoning Board.

The meeting was short and to the point. Muffy was back, having continued to pursue her subdivision. Long and short of it, a judge had found issue with the process used, but had not offered any opinion on the outcome of the process. In particular, the way the Village handled SEQR. Continue reading

Honeoye Falls Annual Meeting 2019-04-01

Tonight (2019-04-01) was the Honeoye Falls Annual Meeting.

As usual, Budget Hearing was before the Annual Meeting. While the budget was approved (no surprise), there was a surprising amount of discussion before that approval. In the end, a levy increase of 2.91% (ie at the cap) was approved, which should increase the Village’s revenue ~$12k. Continue reading

Honeoye Falls-Lima Board of Education 2019-03-26

Tonight (2019-03-26) was a meeting of the Honeoye Falls-Lima Board of Education (BoE).

This was also the meeting where the Program Budget Advisory Council (PBAC) makes their recommendation to the BoE. As I sit on the PBAC, I was with the group presenting. While you are welcome to read the full recommendation, I would summarize it as ‘continue what has worked in the past’. Continue reading

Mendon Town Board 2019-03-11

Tonight (2019-03-11) was a meeting of the Mendon Town Board.

As the Village Trustees had moved next weeks meeting to tonight, I had to pick one to attend. As this posts title gives away, I picked the Town. Which means I couldn’t listen to the Village talk about Festival on the Green or the new lights in/around Harry Allen Park. As I was unable to find an Agenda, I can only assume those topics were on it. Continue reading
