This Morning (2020-11-24) was a meeting of the Honeoye Falls-Lima Board of Education (BoE).
This meeting was surprising for a number of reasons. First that it was in the morning instead of the evening. Second was it being so short. Continue reading

Tonight (2020-11-16) was a meeting of the Honeoye Falls Board of Trustees.
Unlike the past few meetings, this one was back to being a virtual, which is to say imaginary, meeting. While I can understand the concerns, and respect the desire to do what is best, I think this is a bad practice to return to. Continue reading
Tonight (2020-11-10) was a meeting of the Honeoye Falls-Lima Board of Education (BoE).
We had a student join the meeting through Zoom, to comment on the hazards of blue light. While she didn’t directly say it, I think she was criticizing the district’s heavy reliance on computers. In contrast to in person lectures, written materials, etc. Regardless of the topic, I was glad to hear from the student at the meeting. Continue reading
Tonight (2020-11-09) was a meeting of the Mendon Town Board.
While no records were set, the meeting was relatively short and straightforward. As they all should be, long and exciting is a bad combination for a meeting. Continue reading
Today (2020-11-03) there is a General Election in New York State. For those who live in Honeoye Falls, the polling station is the Mendon Community Center, between 6AM and 9PM. Continue reading
Tonight (2020-11-02) was a meeting of the Honeoye Falls Zoning Board.
The meeting was back to being online, due too concerns over expected attendance. As I saw a peak of 79 people in the virtual audience, those concerns seemed valid. It would have been rather crowded in the ambulance base, or Village office. Community center might have been doable, but would have been tight. Continue reading

Buried in the ‘consensus agenda’ was the revision of minutes from a meeting last December. I don’t have the original to compare with, so I don’t know what was changed. It was interesting, as the meeting was about three hours of executive session, before discarding a short term suspension and implementing a long term suspension. I’m sure there is a story behind this, possibly involving ‘Eliza’, but it’s likely not as exciting as it may appear. Continue reading
As usual this time of year, there is an upcoming election. The actual vote will be held Tuesday November 3th, 2020. For those who also live in Honeoye Falls, the polling station is the Mendon Community Center, formerly known as the Legion Hall. Continue reading
Tonight (2020-10-19) was a meeting of the Honeoye Falls Board of Trustees.
Unlike the last few meetings, this one was at the Ambulance Facility. Necessary as the Town Board was at the Community Center. I would have liked it if that group had met last week, despite it being Columbus Day, but such is life. Continue reading
Tonight (2020-10-13) was a meeting of the Honeoye Falls-Lima Board of Education (BoE).
Another year, another School Board Recognition Week. It is nice to recognize the effort they take, as it is a rather thankless job. Someone (and often somemany) will be upset with whatever action they take. Yet action must be done (even if that action is ‘do nothing’).
