Audio quality on the recording was not the best. Having been in the Lima cafeteria for meetings before, this did not surprise me. The acoustics in that room aren’t great, and there is a decent amount of background machinery. Continue reading

The evening of 2022-01-04 was a meeting of the Honeoye Falls-Lima Board of Education (BoE), and Program Budget Advisory Council (PBAC).
As the first of this years budget meeting, the format was different. Instead of budget before business, like in past years, it was some business, break for budget, then back to business. Time will tell if this is really an improvement, but I thought it worked well enough. Continue reading

The evening of 2021-12-20 was a meeting of the Honeoye Falls Board of Trustees.
There was a public discussion (as opposed to public hearing) on the topic of cannabis. Various views in favor and against opting in to the States plan were shared. In the end, the Board decided to take no action. Which in effect means opting in. While I don’t particularly agree with this action, I am mostly ambivalent. Continue reading

As I was once again managing the recording/streaming, my focus was split for the majority of the meeting. As such, I was not in the audience as usual. As I am yet again watching a recording after the fact, I’ll applaud the Board and district staff for their diligence. Nothing beats interacting face to face, but they are clearly making an effort towards producing a reasonable alternative. Continue reading
