The evening of 2025-01-21 was a meeting of the Honeoye Falls Board of Trustees.
Following up on last meetings discussion on the Fireman’s Christmas Parade, it sounds like the Village is still exploring options. But the expected outcome sounds like an approval process. Although Rick (Mayor) did mention the possibility of no more parades.
Apparently, a number of years back, there was an idea to connect Honeoye Falls to Lima with a sidewalk. Lima is asking if that idea is still worth pursuing. While I’m not sure how practical the idea is, I will admit I see some appeal to it. Although the question is ever if it’s worth the resources, which could otherwise be allocated elsewhere.
There was much discussion around the Fire Department, which is not an unusual occurrence here. In particular, talk about renovating the current building and refurbishing trucks. In other words, making what we have work better. As it delays the alternative of replacing with new.
Arbor Day is coming up, and there will be an event in Harry Allen Park on 4/26. I didn’t hear exact time on that date, but if memory serves it’s late morning/early afternoon. Regardless, I’m sure more information will be made available as the date approaches.
Before that, there will be a Village election on March 18. I think there is still time to get on the ballot, if that interests you. Either way, don’t forget to vote (if you live in the Village).
There was a $12k donation to the Village, “to be used specifically for our Village Parks projects”. Not sure what the plan is, but it’s nice to have people both able and willing to make donations like that.
The Trustees are going to be tweaking the start time for their meetings. Not in a way that effects the public, we still show up at 7PM. But when applicable, they will be having executive session at 6:30PM. One of those changes that shouldn’t impact the public, but should make the Board’s life a little easier (hopefully).
