The evening of 2024-08-12 was a meeting of the Mendon Town Board.
The Town is looking for Full and Part-Time staff at Town Hall. If you are interested, email/call John (Supervisor). One of the office staff had resigned, bringing about this situation. The Town Attorney has also resigned. No need to apply there, as that position was filled tonight. In any case, I hope the former staff does well in whatever adventure they are off to next.
There were two commenters during Public Comment. The first (Heather something, I missed her last name) was complaining about speeding traffic. Fair enough, this seems to be a reoccurring issue (if it ever really goes away).
The second was Andy (Highway Superintendent), where he gave his usual Highway report. Of note was a request for public Budget Workshops. Which I found interesting, as this is something both the Village and School do. If it’s not needed here, fine. But could be worth trying to see if it helps.
This groups next meeting has been rescheduled for September 30. It was going to be September 23. I’m sure it will be appropriately notified in due time.
There were a couple times tonight where I noticed a tension (for lack of a better word) between some of the elected officials. In all fairness, everyone did their job. But it also felt like there was something going on in the background. Mind you, my social skills are not the best, so I may well be imagining things.
