The evening of 2024-07-15 was a meeting of the Honeoye Falls Board of Trustees.
Prior to the meeting a decent sized storm rolled through the region. As a side effect of this, various people were needed elsewhere. Which meant the Fire Department presentation was skipped.
Planning for the Waste Water Treatment Plant project continues. It’s anticipated that the total project will be in the ~$10 million ballpark. Grants are being explored, but part of that requires having an agreement in place for engineering services. So the Village is finalizing details with a firm to provide them, with a potential cost of ~$1.6 million. Emphasis on the ‘potential’. As was pointed out, engineering work won’t be starting until finances for the whole project are better sorted out. In theory, that might mean engineering costs are $0 (zero). In practice, it sounds like the options are ‘do project soon’, ‘do project later for a much larger cost’, or ‘phase out village sewer’. As the last two options are versions of bad, that leaves ‘do project soon’.
The road will stay open for Festival at the Falls. There had been discussion about closing it, but as details were being ironed out it was decided leaving it open was the better option. Good to do the due diligence either way.
September’s meeting for this group is being pushed back a week, to the 23rd. For those of you who would like to attend.
And those are my Observations From Audience Land for the July 15, 2024 meeting of the Honeoye Falls Board of Trustees.

There was also a Town Board meeting tonight. Alas, I cannot be in two places at once. So I was at this meeting and not that one. Which means tomorrow I get to watch the recording of that meeting. Not as good as being there, but beats the minutes (no offense to the minute taker).
