Honeoye Falls Village Board 2022-12-19

The evening of 2022-12-19 was a meeting of the Honeoye Falls Board of Trustees.

Most interesting part of the meeting was the Video Tour. You can find it on the Village’s home page, if you want to watch them yourself. Overall the videos were nice enough, but I thought the colors were too bright (for lack of a better description). Plants are green, but not that green. I also found it amusing when they slipped in clips from outside of the Village. There were a few I was suspicious of, but the one with a lake in the background (~0:25 of ‘Welcome’ video)? Yeah, that’s nowhere in this Village.

Two local laws were approved, but they both felt more like formalities then anything else. The first was to be in compliance with the State Uniform Building Code, the second to have more flexibility come budget time.

The January and February meetings of this group will be on Tuesdays instead of Mondays, due to holidays. Personally, I would rather they stuck to the Monday pattern, but at least they announce it in advance so there are no surprises.

There was an interesting comment about ambulances having to wait once at the hospitals. Unfortunate that this is an issue (for a variety of reasons), but it reminds me of a discussion I heard the other day. That discussion was in regards to policing, but the claim would still apply here. Namely, that those in a position to actually resolve the mess are leveraging it for personal gain. Thus the situation won’t be getting better anytime soon. As usual, I like to be wrong on this sort of thing, but it makes a disturbing amount of sense. The local emergency services (and presumably hospital staff) are doing all they can to help people. Meanwhile, various Nero’s are fiddling as the nation they are sworn to protect burns around us.

And those are my Observations From Audience Land for the December 19, 2022 meeting of the Honeoye Falls Board of Trustees.

Online copy of Agenda was not available anywhere I could find. Perhaps it will be on the Village’s website in the future, perhaps not…
