Tonight (2021-05-25) was a meeting of the Honeoye Falls-Lima Board of Education (BoE).
As seems to be becoming a pattern, other obligations prevented me from attending the BoE meeting. I am thankful there is a recording made. While never as good as being there in person, it is much better then reading minutes.
Despite being unable to attend, reading through the documents proved on BoardDocs before the meeting did lead to some thoughts. Those thoughts are shared below, for whatever that is worth.
Yet again time for the annual Code of Conduct (CoC) review/Public Hearing. The changes seem reasonable enough. Make the stance on marijuana clear (not on campus), clarifies learning at home (it’s still school), but mostly making it gender neutral. Which does raise the interesting question. As the CoC no longer references he or she, does it apply to he or she? Or does it only apply to ‘they’? Which is to say those who are neither he or she.
Another month, another capitol project report. Which means more pictures. I do like looking at pictures of construction projects as they proceed along. Almost as much fun as walking through the construction site.
But what I really want more information on is Mendon Renewables. Unless I’m completely misreading the documents, they are giving the district $180,000. And the district is agreeing to a Payment In Lieu Of Taxes (PILOT) arrangement. Also rescinding their opt out stance on Solar assessments, before re-opting out. For all I know, this is standard for PILOTs. And I’m sure nothing untoward is going on. But at a quick glance it sounds dangerously bribe like. Hence looking forward to watching the recording and hearing how this is explained.
And those are my … thoughts from reading the documents before … the May 25, 2021 meeting of the Honeoye Falls-Lima Board of Education.
Agenda’s and similar information can be found at HFL’s BoardDocs page. While a recording of the meeting will likely be available soon.
