Honeoye Falls Village Board 2020-05-18

Tonight (2020-05-18) was a meeting of the Honeoye Falls Board of Trustees.

Meeting was relatively short. Nothing wrong with that, although it was interesting that making transcription easier was a stated reason. Sounds like I’m not the only one looking forward to having meetings in the same room again.

It was expressed that there are too many meetings about this panic. The value of the information was acknowledged, but the endless repetition was unnecessary.

The Village is aiming to return to ‘normal’ staff shifts on/near June 1. Was mentioned that office visits would still be by appointment only.

Mask handouts have gone well. ~28k masks were given out to the public, between two different events.

Movies in the park event had it’s dates changed. Unfortunately, I missed the date changes. I expect it will be publicized when we get closer to them. Although a moot point if too many people are still panicking. It will be interesting to see how many people show up. At the past shows I’ve gone to, there has definitely been space to spread out in the park.

New ambulance staff was approved. Only mentioning because, in many ways, this is normal. New ambulance (and fire department) staff are often approved at these meetings. I get the sense it’s a combination of short shifts, and wanting to make sure there are always plenty of people available. Or it could have been because of the current panic, but if that was the case, no one said anything.

The HFL Grassroots group got a shout out. Another place to go for support if needed.

And those are my Observations From Audience Land for the May 18, 2020 meeting of the Honeoye Falls Board of Trustees.

Agenda was not available anywhere I could find. Perhaps it will be on the Village’s website in the future, perhaps not…
