The evening of 2025-12-29 was a meeting of the Mendon Town Board.
Had some technical difficulties, so no live stream. As always, we do our best with what we have. Hopefully the recording will be online ‘soon‘.
Primary purpose of this meeting was to approve final vouchers for the year. That happened, as usual. And, since I haven’t mentioned it in a while, in the interests of full disclosure, one of the vouchers approved was for me. The Town continues to ask me to provide certain services for them, and continues to pay me for doing so.
But since a meeting was scheduled, other items got tacked on. In this case, a pair of Public Hearings. I didn’t hear any comments on either, although there was some discussion at the table. Outcome was the Short Term Rental Renewal was Approved. And the SEQR for the Stoney Lonesome Road Closure was approved as a Negative Declaration. In other words, the process continues along. The estimate was given that we are at month 10 of an 18 month process on the closure. Which beats the ~5 years the State DoT said it would take them. Never let it be said government is fast. Which, overall, is probably for the best.
Besides that, there were some goodbyes said, as this was the last meeting for a majority of the Board. Swearing in on Thursday for a new batch of elected officials. I hope those leaving office enjoy whatever adventure they are off to next.
