The evening of 2025-03-10 was a meeting of the Mendon Town Board.
There was a decent sized crowd, but no obvious draw, unlike last time with the scouts. Reading between the lines, and considering what I know about some of these people, I could speculate as to why. Regardless, I say the more the merrier. Government is supposed to works for us, the people. And it’s prudent to check up on those working on our behalf from time to time (or every month).
~$1k transferred to Splash Park project. By the sounds of it, this means the project is now closed out and completed. Always nice to finish a project and move it into the ‘all done’ category. Because there is always another one waiting to come along.
Turning Stoney Lonesome Road into a dead end continues to be explored. Tonight we heard from the engineer on how the project could go. He pointed out, there are still steps to work through, including talking to the public.
Sounds like the Town has some extra money from the County, which is earmarked for children and seniors. As the Village apparently did not receive any of this money, the Town is planning to help subsidize Village children for the Summer Recreation program.
And the 284 agreement between the Highway Superintendent and the Town Board was discussed. I have no opinion on this agreement as such. I’ll just point out that if we didn’t have this personality clash it would have been a boring meeting. I like boring meetings.
And those are my Observations From Audience Land for the March 10, 2025 meeting of the Mendon Town Board.
