The evening of 2025-03-17 was a meeting of the Honeoye Falls Board of Trustees.
As Rick (Mayor) pointed out, there is an election for the Village tomorrow. Go vote. If nothing else, it will be a good opportunity to use the new voting machines.
The Village’s budget hearing should be 4/7 at 6PM. Followed, as usual, by the Annual meeting. If I heard right, the property tax levy limit is being exceeded. But the tax rate itself isn’t changing. Which I would think means you only pay more if your property assessment changed? I’m sure more details will be made available.
The totem pole appears to be going away. No date or details like that offered, but it sounds like there is a general plan to remove it and replace with something more appropriate to the region. On the one hand, that makes sense, as totem poles are apparently a northwest thing, not northeast. On the other hand, it has been there a while and offers decoration. The Village parks page even refers to it as “famous”. Absent a need to remove it, why not leave it up? Eh, I’m sure more details will come out as time advances. Not that it’s a big deal either way.
Following up on the Zoning Boards discussion, this Board discussed changing the zoning in regards to cannabis. As expected, they are planning to adjust the zoning so that cannabis dispensaries and vape shops can only be in the General Business zone. In other words, out West Main street in the shopping area.
And those are my Observations From Audience Land for the March 17, 2025 meeting of the Honeoye Falls Board of Trustees.

Again, go vote.
