The evening of 2024-08-19 was a meeting of the Honeoye Falls Board of Trustees.
A number of people commented on how well Festival at the Falls went on Saturday. I agree, even if there were more witches then I would have expected.
A video presentation on the Fire Department has been produced. Sounds like a link to it will go out in a letter to local residents ‘soon‘. If you can’t wait, Rick (Mayor) was on Channel 10 recently, where he spoke about the Fire Department. Consider that a Trailer, if you will.
Funds were transferred to various reserve accounts. One of those things that is done from time to time, only worth noting because of the related discussion. In particular, how the Village is looking at spending ~$100k on fire truck maintenance. Not glamorous, but regular maintenance is needed if we want to keep providing this service. To paraphrase Rick, the reserves are healthy, but large projects are coming before too long.
The Village Court is being abolished. Sounds like this role will shift to the Town at the end of the term. Which I think translates to April? Wasn’t said, so I’m speculating.
Does the Code Enforcement Officer have discretion on requiring engineering documents, at least in regards to flooding and swimming pools? This question was raised, as a side effect of the Wolfsberger park development. Conclusion was that he does, that the Zoning Code grants him that option. Sounded to me like a scale issue, and the verbiage needed to fit that into the Code. After all, there has to be a size below which drawings are clearly not needed. But the reverse is also true. The cost of the project may end up being a good indicator. If the engineer costs more than the project itself, probably not needed. Otherwise, probably prudent.
This groups next meeting has been rescheduled for September 23. It was going to be September 16. Convenient for me, considering last week.

A printed Agenda was available, but it didn’t include all the items discussed. Which may be why wasn’t publicized before the meeting. If it’s still being updated, right up to the start of the meeting, it’s kind of hard to publicize it. As with most things in life, it’s best effort.
