The evening of 2024-01-08 was a meeting of the Honeoye Falls Zoning Board.
Primary topic was the denial of a setback variance for a chicken coop and bee hives for the property on the corner of Monroe and Locust. Been a while since I’ve seen a Board go through the ‘5 questions‘ from this side of the table. And it’s probably been just as long since this group has done that, as they seem to focus on the Planning side of their role more often. Still, they did the job well enough.
There was also a concept discussion around running a dog grooming business out of a personal residence. As a concept, and as the potential property owner does not yet own, it was on the vague side. But it looks like it’s an allowed use for most of the Village. So perhaps the dog grooming on North Main street will be moving before too long.
Apparently there was a third applicant on the agenda, but the topic was resolved without needing to come to the meeting. No other details, only vicious rumors.
And on the topic of gossip, it sounds like the former Brewery on the corner of Main and East will be opening under new owners sometime in February. While I personally wasn’t in there very often, better to have it in use than sitting vacant.
And those are my Observations From Audience Land for the January 08, 2024 meeting of the Honeoye Falls Zoning Board.
Online copy of Agenda was not available anywhere I could find. Perhaps it will be on the Village’s website in the future, perhaps not…
