Today (2023-11-07) there is a General Election in New York State. For those who live in Honeoye Falls, the polling station is the Mendon Community Center, between 6AM and 9PM.
A sample ballot is available from the county, if you would like one.
Up for vote are:
State Supreme Court Justice 7th Judicial District: Margot J Garant, Alex R Renzi, or Joe Waldorf. Pick two.
County Executive: Adam J Bello or Mark W Assini.
Family Court Judge: Maria J Cubillos-Reed, Kristine M Demo-Vazquez, Maroun G Ajaka, or Dandrea L Ruhlmann. Pick two.
County Legislator, 5th District: Terry H Daniele or Richard B Milne.
Running unopposed are:
Sandra J Doorley for District Attorney, John D Moffitt for Town Supervisor, Michelle S Booth for Town Clerk, Stephen A Maxon for Town Justice, Thomas G Dubois and Kimberly L Roberts for Member of Town Council (Pick Two), and Andrew G Caschetta for Superintendent of Highways.
Finally, there are two amendments to the State Constitution. Both involve changes to Article 8 to adjust limits on debt. One changes section 4 to treat small city school districts the same as other school districts. The other extends the removal of debt limits for sewage facilities for another ten years, as covered in section 5.
As it is election day, hopefully you know who you want to vote for, and perhaps more importantly, why you are picking them. If not, you’ve got until the polls close to figure it out.
In the interests of full disclosure: I am registered as a Republican, for whatever that is worth.
