There is an upcoming Election for the Village of Honeoye Falls on March 21, 2023. Village residents may vote at the Village Office, 5 East Street (next to the bridge) between Noon and 9PM.
Three Village Trustees are up for a vote this year. Two are full term of four years, one is partial term of two years.
All three candidates are running unopposed. Candidates are Virginia Floss, Daniel Harris, and William Wagner.
While I’m sure all three can fill the positions they are running for, I find uncontested elections unfortunate. While they could imply everyone is happy with the status quo, it could also imply no one is willing to do the job or that elections are a mere formality as power remains in the same hands. On the other hand, it does open the door for a write-in. While that is a bit of a rude way to get on the Board, it is more practical as this level of government then any other.
You’ve got a week to decide how to vote. Or not, if you so choose.
The official Public Notice can be read at the Village’s website.
