Honeoye Falls Village Board 2022-09-19

The evening of 2022-09-19 was a meeting of the Honeoye Falls Board of Trustees.

Rick (Mayor) was elsewhere for the meeting, leaving the three Trustees to manage without him. Which they did. This did mean they all had to unanimously agree on all items, but that wasn’t a problem as there wasn’t anything controversial on the agenda.

Stan (Deputy Mayor) ran the meeting in Rick’s absence. While he has a different chairing style then Rick, he got the job done. In under an hour too, although that had as much to do with the agenda as anything else.

Deer season is rolling around again. Of note here as bow/crossbow hunting is legal in the Village. While the Village can only do so much to ‘encourage’ people, I got the distinct impression they would be happy of any assistance in reducing the deer population. State rules still apply, so make sure to check on those if you are interested.

As mentioned last week, the SEQR for Honeoye Falls-Lima’s upcoming Capitol Project made it to the Village. As expected, they acknowledged the School District as ‘lead agency’.

Tammy Voorhees is resigning. Apparently she’s been keeping the office clean for the past ~30 years or so. That’s a good long time and I can’t fault her for wanting to move on to other things.

Contracts with Mendon (and West Bloomfield?) were approved for Ambulance and Fire services. Sounds like they are substantially the same as last year, just some minor dollar adjustments. Fits regular timing, as the Town is looking at their Tentative Budget.

Apart from that, was a reasonably straightforward meeting. Even if the table felt a little empty.

And those are my Observations From Audience Land for the September 19, 2022 meeting of the Honeoye Falls Board of Trustees.

Online copy of Agenda was not available anywhere I could find. Perhaps it will be on the Village’s website in the future, perhaps not…
