This morning (2021-07-20) was a meeting of the Honeoye Falls-Lima Board of Education (BoE).
It was one of the rare morning meetings, which also meant a short one. I would not be surprised if August’s meeting was also a morning meeting.
Largest topic of discussion was the upcoming NYSSBA convention. How many attending the budget supports, ways to stretch that number (if the Board so chooses), benefits of going, etc. No actual decision on who will go was stated, I got the impression that will come up during the Board’s retreat.
Which was where the Board was off to after the meeting adjourned. An all day retreat to discuss a variety of topics. While I believe the retreat would qualify as an ‘open meeting’ (have a quorum, not executive session), and thus I could observe, it doesn’t feel appropriate to do so. I hope they enjoy their day and look forward to hearing about it during the coming meetings.
