Tonight (2020-07-06) was a meeting of the Honeoye Falls Zoning Board.
Another group has decided to be brave enough to meet in person once more. Admittedly, spread out quiet a bit, and many people wearing masks, but in person nonetheless. Yet more evidence sanity is (all too slowly) returning.
Despite being on the agenda, Mathstone was not at the meeting. Apparently not a surprise to the Board, so likely being rescheduled to some point in the future.
Alison was back again for turning the Lower Mill/Rabbit Room into an apartment building. Not approved tonight, looks like there will be a special meeting on 7/22 where that will likely happen. Discussion was primarily around parking spaces. Some of the back and forth had me thinking of Muffy’s escapade. Details are different, and I have every reason to believe this project will get it’s approval at the next meeting.
Potential development for the area known (to some) as Wolfsburger park was also discussed. As a concept, no approval was given (or expected), just discussion about what the developer wanted and what the Board needed to make that happen. All parties seemed happy with the general plan, but it is ever in the details where issues arise.
Current outline is for ~135 single family lots, although some of them are actually townhouses. So technically fewer actual buildings.
The builder did make a comment about housing being too expensive to build. No explanation about why it’s too expensive, what pushes the cost. Just that it used to be cheaper (relatively speaking), and is now more costly.
And those are my Observations From Audience Land for the July 6, 2020 meeting of the Honeoye Falls Zoning Board.
